About Remove Background
Upload a photo and the subject comes back cleanly cut out - no manual masking, no erasing, just drop in the image and download the result. It works on people, pets, products, and objects, and handles reasonably complex edges surprisingly well. If transparency isn't what you need, set a white or custom-colored background instead - handy for passport-style photos or marketplace listings that require a plain background. Your photo is processed on the server and deleted immediately after the download is ready - it never ends up in anyone's database.

How subject detection works
The current backend estimates the background from border pixels, flood-fills similar areas, and feathers the edge. It is not a cloud AI segmentation model.
Transparent PNG output
When transparent background is selected, the result is a PNG with an alpha channel. If a white, gray, or custom color is selected, the output is flattened.
Edge quality
Clean subjects on simple backgrounds work best. Hair, glass, shadows, and busy backgrounds may need manual cleanup in an image editor.
Limits and privacy
One uploaded image is processed server-side in memory and deleted after download. Images over 40 megapixels are rejected for safety.
Common background-removal errors
Failures usually come from unsupported image formats, damaged files, huge images, or subjects touching a background with very similar colors.
